Photos

It has been forever since I got the girls pictures taken, and I just don't know where to take them that is not a fortune, but where the pictures turn out good. So I tried some on my own.

At least the girls were happy for me and I got some good smiles out of both of them.

And here we go with the lovely poses. It never fails, they always appear every time I whip out the camera. She must think that she is a supermodel.

Time for some funny faces.

My sweet Baby Bear.

Giant of the Week

Ali was Giant of the week at school last week. She was so tickled with herself. We got to make this lovely poster and she took some starbursts for her treat. She loved that I got to come to her class and see her friends and tell funny stories about her. She loves to be in the spotlight.

Bearded Dragon

Ali is now determined that she is going to get a bearded dragon. I do not know where she came up with this, but something tells me that it is Matt. She will not drop the subject. She constantly asks me if I am ready to go and get our lizard. Quite frankly, I can not have a creature like that in our house. I would not be able to sleep at night because I would constantly think that the creature is running loose in the house. I need to get her off of this lizard kick.

She loves the baby ones. Emily is deathly afraid of them and can not believe that Ali dares to touch them.

Beach Bakin'

We have all been loving the wonderful weather. The girls are especially happy that they can play outside and "Beach bake" as they call it. The other day Ali was out laying on a beach towel with sunglasses and she came in and asked me if we had any magazines. Does this sound familiar to anyone. I think that Nana Sue is grooming her to be a sun worshiper just like her.

Isn't Life Grand!

My little ms. serious.

The Three Musketeers!

Ali one morning before school. When there are days that she thinks she looks especially fancy, she asks me to take her picture on the stairs. We then have to go through all the random poses that she pulls out of her book of tricks, she is quite the character.

Dr. Seusses Birthday and St. Patty's Day Cookies

A couple weeks ago we made cookies and Ali had her heart set on putting green food coloring in them for St. Patricks day. She is such a huge help in the kitchen, she is even becoming quite the egg cracker. Dig the sweet pose, she seems to be doing this one a lot, I am not quite sure where it came from, but I am sure it must be from dance.

The girls and the first batch. Emily really does not like to get her picture taken. Could it be that Ali always grabs her head and pulls her right into her to pose.

Ali and her sweet Dr. Seuss hat that she got at school. This is one of those things that I am not sure when we will ever be able to part with it.

Happy Love Day!

My two sweet Valentines all ready for the day.
Sharing the love.

The new guitar. Ali thinks that it is so cool and she is calling it her Taylor Swift guitar. Lesson learned, if you ever find something on clearance, don't think that it will be fine for the two girls to share the one item. Emily was heartbroken that there was not another one. So we took her to Wal-Mart and got her some Betty Bongo drums.

Chinese New Year

Ali's dance group danced at a Chinese New Year celebration at the U tonight. Let me just say that it was a rather entertaining evening.

Getting excited to dance.

Emily was such a good sport while we had to wait for an hour before Ali actually had to dance. We were so happy to have Nans with us. Emily enjoyed sitting on her lap and cuddling in between making her take her to the bathroom every five minutes.

Ali and her friend Angelita that also goes to her same school. Ali is in Kindergarten, Angelita is in second grade.

This is Ali all ready to go.

She thought that her dress looked like Cinderella's so I had to take her picture of her coming down the stairs losing a glass slipper.
Ta-Da! Putting on the dress for the first time.

They all did a great job on their dance. It is still pretty knew to them, they have only been working on it for about a month now. Ali is the one in the back left corner as you are looking in your screen.

Thanks Nana Susan

My mom brought these awesome feather hats back from New Orleans for the girls. Lets just say they love them.

They put them on and do all kinds of cheesy poses for the camera.

Ali, The Thinker.

I dread to see what these two crazy girls come up whith when they put these two heads together. I am sure it will be nothing but trouble.

"Look Mom, I'm shakin' my booty."

And Ali shakin' hers too.
Thanks Nana, for the hours of enjoyment just looking at ourselves in the mirror and acting crazy.

We've been boring!

The last couple of weeks we have been so boring. We have just been doing the work, school and dance routine. The girls, nonetheless manage to have fun.

This is them demonstrating some of their robot moves while I was doing dishes. All I can say is I am sure glad that I have them around to make me laugh.

My Ali girl playing Barbies.

In science Ali got to make some neat putty, of course when she got home with it Emily had to get out the beloved "Fart Putty."

Silly Emily with her pink putty. By the way, her new nickname is Spanky. This all came about because we have been watching The Little Rascals and Emily somewhat resembles Spanky with her round face, and the one dimple. She does not seem to be to fond of the nicknames lately, if you call her something other than Emily she stops and says "no, I am Emily Jane."

Snowboarding

Over the weekend Matt and I took Ali snowboarding for her first time. She took a snowboarding lesson while we were up there, I can not believe how much she learned in two hours. Hopefully we can make it up there again this year so that she does not forget what she learned.

Matt and his new BFF Shane.

Ali learning the ropes in her class.

She always popped right back up after she fell.

Ali's friend Lex was in her class with her. They had a blast.
In their class they got pins that have each skill of snowboarding on them. She thought that it was the coolest thing, and insists on taking it for show and tell.

Here is a little bit of video of Ali and her sweet skills. I was so upset that I did not get better video, but here is what I got.

Build and Grow

Last Saturday Marianne arranged the best Saturday activity that my girls have had in a long time. We all went to Lowes for their build and grow workshop. The kids got to make coin banks. Ali and Emily are obsessed with them. It has perked Ali's interest in helping me with chores. She is even asking me how many pennies she can get if she eats all of her dinner. If only it worked that way.
