This weekend we had Ali's first dance competition. It was at SLCC. It was a really long day, and the preparation started the night before.
First we loaded Ali's head with curlers.

Then it was off to bed.

This morning we woke up and took them out. "Oh My!" What a mess.
It turned out rather frizzy.

Next came some drama and Ali nearly in tears that her hair looked so funny.

Luckily, by the time we drove there it was mellowed out and a lot better once we got it fixed how it was supposed to be. Lesson learned, never use any of the tiny curlers ever again.

Ali and Savannah ready for their first dance. All the other girls kept walking around saying that they were nervouse. Ali would look at them and say "about what?"

She is quite the ham out there with all of her "Facials" as the teachers would call them.

Their first dance was "Cars that go Boom." Then it was a quick run back to the dressing room to change and get ready for their Lyrical dance.

All the girls ready to go.

Ali in the splits.

Wow, someone looks like Gumby. After the Lyrical dance we had a two hour break, so we went to dinner and wandered around in Ross for awhile. The whole time we were there Ali kept saying "Take me back to dance, I want to dance again." She was not even acting tired, I can not believe her. She has a never ending battery.

Ready for Hip Hop with her money in the pockets of her jeans.

Ali thought that performing the Hip Hop dance was the funnest of them all. And all their hard work paid off. They took 1st place in the Hip Hop category for the mini teams.
Before the awards ceremony all the girls from all the different dance studios went our on the floor and danced to random songs that the DJ played. The first one was the Boot Scootin Boogie. Ali really got into it and tried it for her first time.

All the girls with the Jazz Studio trophies. Hailey L., Savannah, Errin, Hailey A., Mrs. Steph, Angela, Ali, Olivia, Jensen, Oliva N. and Lauren. All in all the Mini's one 1st place for Hip Hop, and 2nd place for thier Lyrical dance. Great Job my little Tiny Dancer.
