Shan-Wow!

So I just have to share with everyone about my adventure with fixing our dryer. Wednesday night I went to put a load of wash into the dryer, when I went to turn it on it did nothing. I started thinking to myself that this was just fabulous, and that getting the dryer fixed by a repair man would almost be as much as getting a new one. So the next morning I woke up and called Appliance Discount Center, the guy on the phone was so crabby, but he did help me and tell me that it was probably the Thermal Fuse. So I started to ask him how much that would be for them to send someone out, he started listing off the prices, but then luckily told me that we could probably do it ourselves. Matt worked the night before so I knew that he would not be up before 1:00 and I just could not wait until then to know what was going on. So I started ripping apart the dryer, unplugged the venting system and got it all ready to go for when Matt woke up. But still I could not wait for him. I tried to find instruction off the internet of where the Thermal Fuse was because I had no idea, so finally I talked to my mom and she told me to take a picture of it and take it to the store and ask them which part it was. So that is what I did. I walked in there and I know that the guys were not appreciating me one bit, I whipped out my camera and I think that they wanted to bust a gut laughing. Needless to say the plan worked. They told me where it was and I went home to attempt it, but I could not get the screws undone so I had to ask Matt for a little help. He finished the job, but selfishly I am taking all the credit because I ripped the thing apart, figured out what was wrong with it and dealt with all the crabby people at the Appliance Discount store.
So for all of you who did not know that my nickname from Matt is Shan-Wow, here is another example of me living up to my newly acquired name.

Wow, you are "Shan-Wow". This is very funny, and you are brave to want to attempt to fix this yourself, I think I would have cried at the thought of it! I am sure the men at the store are still talking about you! Funny!

Shannon, you rock! Necessity always has been and likely always will be the mother of invention. I'll be certain to call you next time I have an appliance issue.

You are "Shan-Wow", but I have known that for a long time. I love this storey. You are THE Martha Stewart in my book. You are the best mom, baby sitter, daughter, cook, cleaner, sewer, bow maker, crafter, construction worker and now appliance repair woman I know. That is all in the same day too. We call you a pioneer woman because of all you can do. Matt is a lucky guy.

Gee, thanks guys. You all would have done the same if you had four loads of laundry because you slacked all week.

I'm calling you next time I need something fixed. It's marvelous to have a handy-man/woman in the family. We've always called you the pioneer woman - give birth and pick up your handcart and walk on.
Get some business cards made up-I'll pay for them!
