Ali's dance group danced at a Chinese New Year celebration at the U tonight. Let me just say that it was a rather entertaining evening.
Getting excited to dance.
Emily was such a good sport while we had to wait for an hour before Ali actually had to dance. We were so happy to have Nans with us. Emily enjoyed sitting on her lap and cuddling in between making her take her to the bathroom every five minutes. Ali and her friend Angelita that also goes to her same school. Ali is in Kindergarten, Angelita is in second grade. This is Ali all ready to go.
She thought that her dress looked like Cinderella's so I had to take her picture of her coming down the stairs losing a glass slipper. Ta-Da! Putting on the dress for the first time.
They all did a great job on their dance. It is still pretty knew to them, they have only been working on it for about a month now. Ali is the one in the back left corner as you are looking in your screen.
The last couple of weeks we have been so boring. We have just been doing the work, school and dance routine. The girls, nonetheless manage to have fun.
This is them demonstrating some of their robot moves while I was doing dishes. All I can say is I am sure glad that I have them around to make me laugh.
My Ali girl playing Barbies.
In science Ali got to make some neat putty, of course when she got home with it Emily had to get out the beloved "Fart Putty."
Silly Emily with her pink putty. By the way, her new nickname is Spanky. This all came about because we have been watching The Little Rascals and Emily somewhat resembles Spanky with her round face, and the one dimple. She does not seem to be to fond of the nicknames lately, if you call her something other than Emily she stops and says "no, I am Emily Jane."
Over the weekend Matt and I took Ali snowboarding for her first time. She took a snowboarding lesson while we were up there, I can not believe how much she learned in two hours. Hopefully we can make it up there again this year so that she does not forget what she learned.
Matt and his new BFF Shane.
Ali learning the ropes in her class.
She always popped right back up after she fell.
Ali's friend Lex was in her class with her. They had a blast.
In their class they got pins that have each skill of snowboarding on them. She thought that it was the coolest thing, and insists on taking it for show and tell.
Here is a little bit of video of Ali and her sweet skills. I was so upset that I did not get better video, but here is what I got.
Last Saturday Marianne arranged the best Saturday activity that my girls have had in a long time. We all went to Lowes for their build and grow workshop. The kids got to make coin banks. Ali and Emily are obsessed with them. It has perked Ali's interest in helping me with chores. She is even asking me how many pennies she can get if she eats all of her dinner. If only it worked that way.
The other day all three girls came down out of Ali's room wearing these glasses and hats. They thought that they were so neat, they were dancing around to Alvin and the Chipmunks and pretending that the living room was the stage of a fashion show.
Do you ever wonder if I ever get Emily dressed? Thinking about it, it seems like all her pictures over the last couple posts she has been in her pajamas. She just has a real fetish for her princess nightgowns. It is really hard to get them off of her.
Last weekend we went sledding with my Dad. Ali was so excited we used the outing as a bribe for the doctors at Instacare to drain her infected wound on her finger. While in the room waiting for the doctor to come back with his supplies she made me call my dad and ask him if we could go in the morning.
Sure enough we did, and she had the funnest time sledding that she has ever had.
She was really into throwing snow balls at Daniel and Matt.
Emily like chillaxin' in the sled again.
Went on lots and lots of rides behind the buggy. Ali got so brave, after a couple of times going on it with Matt and I she decided she was ready to do it all by herself. She was a maniac. She would yell at whoever was driving to go faster and on the bumps.
Going for a cruise with Grandpa. I think that he just may have a new cruising buddy this summer, as well as during the winter.
Matt and Emily going for a ride.
Emily ready for her ride with Grandpa.
Emily loved riding in the buggy. She liked going with Daniel because he would take her up and down the hill. She kept wanting to go fast, and not want to slow down when we would try to stop. She would say "more" every time we would try to get out.
The girls love to play out in the snow any chance they get. Our last really big snow storm they played out there for 2 hours straight. It was really nice, it was the most peace and quiet I have gotten in a long time.
I shoveled all of the snow off of the patio and made a little hill in the backyard for them to sled down. It is not very big, but they think that it is fantastic.
Crash and Burn!
Emily was so happy out there. As long as she has "Her Ali" with her, she is just fine.
More sliding fun.
Really, another picture.
Matt took the girls out front when he woke up and pulled them around on the sled. It was funny because Emily prefers to lay down, rather than sit up.
