Easter Eggs

Ali and Emily colored Easter eggs on Friday after school. Why is it that this activity always makes me so tense. I guess with a 2 year old it can't be expected to go as cleanly as hoped.

Ali loved it and was such a good girl. She kept wiping up every little drop of coloring that dropped because she knew that it was driving me nuts. Emily on the other hand would just wave the egg around and fling the crap out of the cup. I thought that I was going to have a mental breakdown by the time we were done.

Just to add to the funniness of the day. Ali has been really full of energy lately, and quite frankly driving me nuts. She constantly has to be doing something. So as soon as we were done with the eggs, she says to me, "Mom, lets go to the park." I then explain to her that I have to clean up all the coloring, and mess from the eggs and that we can't go right now, but later. So right after that she says "Mom, lets make banana muffins." So of course I explain it again, and do you think that she ever got the clue, she just kept asking me if we could do these totally random things. The whole rest of the day went like that. Wish me luck with spring break. I think that she is having a hard time with the fact that even though I am home with her, I am still taking care of 6 kids and I can't just drop everything all the time to do random craft projects. If anyone has any suggestions for anything that she may enjoy doing by herself, please share with me.

I decided yesterday after Kate dumped the yellow dye all over herself, the table, the chair and the floor that we will possibly be taking a break from all egg decorating activities until the girls are maybe 15 years old! The mess! I am with you, it was kind of a disaster this year! They look like they are having fun though!
