Saturday

On Saturday we went up to Park City and rode the Alpine Coaster. It was such a nice day. It was really windy at home, so it was nice to kind of escape the tornados in the valley and be up where it was just breezy.

Emily is into giving these really tight hugs lately. As you will notice, we all got a lot of them that day. Emily was even a trooper and walked at the outlets the whole time, and up the big hill to get to the coaster. We told her that she had to get her legs strong for dance. That made her just fine about not getting out her stroller for the day.

We had lots of time while waiting to go on the coaster, so we took lots of pictures.

Emily giving Ali a nice tight hug.

Matt and Ali excited for the ride. Ali wanted to go with Matt because she wanted to go really fast, and Emily rode with me so that Matt wouldn't feel jipped out of a ride. Except once we got going Emily was a little dare devil. We went full speed all the way down the hill.
When Matt and Ali got down, I guess she was freaking out that she wanted to go again. Matt of course told her no, but just as he was telling her no a worker handed Matt five more tickets. So we all got to go down the slide a second time, and we even have a ticket left over for another time. It was awesome. The girls thought that it was their lucky day.

Cute Girls!

More Hugs.

Emily posing on the rocks.
She thought that this was really fun, I think that she could have done it all evening.

Silly Ali pretending that she was going to fall off of the rocks.

Ali took a picture of Emily and I.

After Park City we went to Ali's favorite restaraunt. The Olive Garden. It was so windy, but they had a great time waiting outside until we could be seated. They were trying to hide from the wind in this little nooky.
And then they entertained everyone by dancing on the sidewalk.

Boondocks Baby

Last Tuesday we went to Boondocks with some friends.

Emily was so excited to have a date night with Cooper.

Ali all geared up for the go-karts.

Emily playing an intense game of race cars.

Ali and her dear Minnion friend from Despicable Me. Matt was able to hit the jackpot a couple times on our best arcade game there. Both of the girls got Minnion's and a couple other prizes.

The Highlight of the night was Ali and Emily singing karaoke. When we got there we saw the people setting up for it, and she was so excited, she was going to do it for sure. We went on the go-karts and after that, they were ready to go. Ali really wanted to sing "Undo It" or "California Gurls" but they did not have those songs. So she settled for "Tonights Gonna Be A Good Night."

Here is a sampling of her sweet karaoke skills.

1st Grade

My little Ali is in first grade this year. She is so excited and happy to go to school every day. I hope that this lasts, and does not wear off once they start to have a ton of homework.

Her favorite thing about school so far is eating in the lunch room. She has chosen to take a home lunch instead of eating the school food. She sits by Alexis, which is her friend from Kindergarten, who is also in her class this year. We have been riding bikes to and from school every day with her friend Akazia who lives across the street from us. Emily loves riding in the bike trailer along with her big sis. I think that Emily is really enjoying being the princess of the house while Ali is gone at school.

Ali and Alexis waiting for the first day to begin.

My Little Brownies

Sunday night was the big "night before school starts." We also had a party that night at the clubhouse with Gramps and everyone. The girls had a blast playing with everybody. Thanks to Kenzie, they even had an awesome game of hide and go seek.

McKenzie watched the girls on Saturday night while Matt and I went to a concert. She is the best babysitter in the whole world. My mom got to our house at 8:45 and both of the girls were sound asleep in their own beds at that time. That is a miracle at our house on a Saturday night. She even frence braided their hair. They looked so cute, but they slept to wild to have them in the next day. So this is the result of braided hair the night before. It gave their hair so much body, they thought that it was pretty cool.

The tables have turned at out house, and now Emily is my little picture taker. She loves it and will always smile for me now. On the other hand, Ali is a little stinker and makes an evil glare face and walks away. I got one picture of Ali alone the whole night.

Birthday Boating

We got to go to the lake for my Birthday this year. It was such a beautiful day, It could not have been more perfect. That is until the boat died in the middle of the lake. Matt had to swim to shore to ask someone if they would come and tow us back to the dock. The girls were thoroughly entertained by all of the stuff going on. They were troopers. After we got the boat loaded onto the trailer, we sat in the parking lot and ate lunch in the boat. It was almost just as good as being on the lake still.
Ali was so brave, she tried the little trainer ski's. She did great getting the skis on and holding on while we pulled up slack. She has the feel of it now, maybe next time she will dare have us pull her up for a run around the lake.

Boating would not be the same without Cheetos. Emily was in heaven.

Matt did great wakeboarding. He popped right up on his first try. This was his first time this year on the wakeboard.

More Lagoon Fun

Ali's favorite ride at Lagoon is The Jumping Dragon. She had so much fun getting to go with Lex. Our little babes are growing up so fast.

Odysey was another hit of the night. The kids had a blast trying to see who would get the wetest. I think that Ali and Lex won the contest. Ali was drenched after the ride.

Emiy loves the baby swings. She is so funny, every time she is going to get on them she tells us that she is going to be a big girl and not cry. She now loves it and has a huge grin on her face for the whole ride.

Ali hanigin' out at Lagoon-A-Beach.

Lex and Ali.

Ali and Emily had a fun time watching Matt and Shane come down the fast slides. Those boys are silly and they have a contest every time to see who can skip across the water the farthest. Shane totally won last time.

Isabel and Emiy eating some grub.
It is so fun having friends to go to Lagoon-A-Beach with this year.
Hopefully we can do it again year.

Lagoon-A-Beach with the Heieie's and Gustafsons & Kenzie

When Kelly and Ryan were here we got to go on our traditional trip to Lagoon. The girls had so much fun together, Ali and Abby were hillarious doing their own thing, and thinking that they were too big to be with us.

While picnicking the girls entertained us with some acrobats and boogie woogie dancing, which Ali and Emily are still doing.

Jaime, Sophia and McKenzie were able to come with us too. It was quite the party. Everyone loved having Sophia with us, especially Emily. She loves to snuggle up with her and hold her.

My Little Loves

Lately this picture could be really deceiving, but they really can be nice to each other in between the slap fights and making each other cry. My two sweet girls are really being crazy these days, but I love it when I get moments like this.

Awesome Nana!

Last weekend my mom watched the girls while Matt and I went out on a date.
She took them to the fabulous new McDonalds to eat and play in the new playland. They thought that it was so grand, and I really think that it could be up their with Lagoon in the fun department for them. I guess they have neat musical toys that Ali was dancing on top of and amusing everyone in the playland.
After they ate, they of course had to have a photo shoot out on the water fountain in front of the drive in. Leave it to Nana to bust out the camera and make them pose as people are pulling up and ordering food. They had a blast.

Gitchee, Gitchee, Goo means that I Love You!

Thanks Nana for such a fabulous, fun night.

Handcart Days Parade

This year we had the pleasure to go to the parade with the Heieie's. It was so fun for the girls to get to hang out with Abby and Kate.

Before the parade started we tried to keep as cool as possible by hanging out under the trees and holding frozen bottles. The girls also found this cute little chihahua dog that they were calling "Taco." It was really nice they had some pre-parade amusement.

It was kind of funny because Ryan and Matt were sitting off to the side by themselves, it was as if they were together instead of with all of us. Ryan was really picture happy, I am sure he took a picture of every parade entry. Granny was an extra special addition to the parade this year. She had her firecracker wave down, and looked really hip up on that parade float. She is one rockin' Granny. There were also these miniature ponies that were all "pinked" out. They were my favorite thing in the whole parade. I wanted to take one home.

The girls got a ton of candy. As you can see they were stained blue from all the taffy that was consumed. They would jump up and down as the floats would go by and see what they could get thrown their way. I was even lucky enought to get and Addiction shirt thrown right into my lap.
It was a great time, and we think that it should be a tradition to do every year with the Heieie's.

New Babies

We are so excited with all the new little babies in our family. Jake and Jaime had Sophia on July 3, and Danielle and Mark had sweet baby Ryan on July 9th. The girls are absolutely in love with the new additions, and can't get enough of looking at their pictures

Emily, is amazed at how tiny Sophia's little fingers and toes are. She is going to be all over her every time we see her.

A day on the lake

Boating is one of our favorite things to do. The girls are usually so happy and love just playing in the water, bobbing on the tube, or playing on the beach.

Emily is crazy as usual.

Getting them to sit by each other for two seconds is really getting to be a difficult feat. At least we got a good picture out of them though.

Emily is actually the one who will cooperate for pictures these days. I am loving those smile.

Jake, Jaime and Sophia came up to the lake with us as well. It was so fun swimming from the boat to the beach and playing with them. Sophia was precious as usual, she just slept in her carrier the whole time in the shade. Emily loved riding the tube with Jaime, and she even fell asleep during their ride.
