We went to Lagoon this weekend. Ali had such a good time. We went with some friends that have two little kids her age, I think that she wore them out riding Bulgy the Whale over and over again. Every morning now when she wakes up she asks if we are going back to Lagoon today. I think the poor child could live there.
Ali started taking swimming lessons at the rec center last week, she goes every Tuesday and Thursday. She absolutely loves it. When her class is over it is so hard to get her out of the water. We all went swimming with her after her lesson last week. I think that Emily is going to be a little water baby just like her big sister. She loved splashing in the water and watching her Ali run around.
Matt has found a new hobby to occupy his time. He thinks that he is doing me a favor when he plays because he believes that the girls love to listen to him. As much as I don't like to admit it, he is right. If only they liked to watch me scrapbook, then I could get a lot more done. He is getting pretty good at it for never playing a guitar before. Mark and Steve would be very proud of him. I am now able to recognize some pieces of songs that he is playing.
We had such a great Easter. Matt had to work so he slept most of the day, but we woke hime up to see what the easter bunny had brought the kiddies then he went back to sleep. Ali was so disapointed that the Easter bunny did not bring her candy this year. We did prizes instead of candy. She got a Princess Scooter and some little crafty things. Emily got some bongo drums that she can crawl after and dance to the music.
Emily was thoroughly happy watching Ali run around like a mad woman as long as she was holding an Easter egg.
Ali got a bubble blower gun that blows out a gazillion bubbles all at once. It is really neat, I think that I am going to have to take it over for myself.
While we were playing outside, I noticed a fuzzy thing crawling on the driveway. I had no idea what it was because I had never seen one before. Matt died laughing at me and told me it was a caterpillar. It was beautiful. It had really thick fur all over, it looked like it would be really soft, but it was kind of poky. Ali had fun with it and was amazed that it could crawl up the front porch steps.
At the mall the other day the kids got to sit on the Easter Bunnies lap. Ali thought it was really exciting, but Emily just kind of looked at him wondering what kind of creature he was.
We went bowling the other day, I think it could be one of Ali's all time favorit activites. She did so good, she even beat me on the first frame, then on the second frame I came around and redeemed myself and beat everyone. Ali loves watching the ball slowly roll down the lane, and she dances to the music in the meantime until she hears some pins fall down.
The weather has been so nice here it is perfect for playing at the park. We went to the park in Kaysville the other day with the huge slide down the hill. Ali loves it and kept trying to get me to let her take Em down the slide with her.
The other night the girls were playing before their baths and they bumped heads. This in turn meant that they both needed a band aid on their foreheads, so Ali went right ahead and stuck one on Em. Any time something gets bumped, colored with marker, or a hang nail, it means that a band aid is needed. Otherwise we have a huge melt down.
I was trying to have the whole Disney on Ice be a suprise for Ali, but the morning of she would not cooperate in getting ready. In order to get her dressed I had to tell her where we were going, after that she was wound up and excited. The whole way there she was laughing and talking about Mickey, Minnie and Cinderella.
Emily really enjoyed the show, she slept almost the whole time on my mom's lap.
Emily is cruising all over the place now, sometimes she will stop and put her butt in the air. Ali thinks it is the funniest thing ever.
The other night we were playing Elefun, it then turned into playing pirates with the nets for our pirate hats.
Ali is really enjoying the warm weather. She wants to practically live outside. She is getting really good on her bike and can ride it all the way around the block by herself. She is so proud of herself.
Last week we got to go to the Discovery childrens museum at the Gateway with Becca, Amy and all of their kids. It was so fun to see the new Sesame Street exhibit about the body. They had a market and restaurant with healthy foods, quizes on computers that asked about different parts of the body, a display that showed how you chew, digest and poop, (I think that was the most fascinating part for Ali.) She also loved the heart that they had, and when she would pull the handle and push it in it would make the sound of a beating heart.
This video is of Ali and Jadon dancing in Grovers dance studio.
Ali is in heaven now that she gets to take Emily for rides in her Corvette. Emily loves it also, she sits in the floor of it and just laughs and grins the whole way around the block. Luckily we have had no crashes yet.
Ali is enjoying wearing hats these days. This is one of her favorites.
