San Francisco

This last weekend Matt and I went on our first trip without the children. My mom was nice enough to watch the girls for us so we could get away and go to the Jets game to see Brett Favre play in a game. Matt has wanted to do this for years, and we finally got to do it.
This was our favorite place of the whole trip. It was at the Cheescake Factory on top of Macy's overlooking Union Square. It was so neat to sit outside and eat and look at the gorgeous scenery.

This is Alamo Square, It is like in the beginning of Full House when they show the big open park and the row of houses.

The trees there were really neat. They were really tall and the leafs were at the very top and they would bend in the neatest ways.

We rode the bus and the BART Train alot.

This is their City Hall building. I thought that it was really neat looking.

Saturday night we went to Alcatraz, it was pretty neat, but really cold.

They had three cells that had these fake head and bodies made up. Apparently when there was a big escape some of the prisoners made these so that in the night the guards would think that they were still in there beds, but they had really snuck out the holes in the wall they dug with spoons. It was neat to see the holes in the wall, and crazy to think that they could have really snuck out in them.

These are the apartments that the workers of Alcatraz lived in with their families.

A view of the island from the ferry.

This is coit tower.

People would perform and do weird things on the streets of Fishermans Wharf.
This dog, cat and mouse thing was really weird. The people would just stand their with their freak shows and want you to tip them.

This guy had his dog dressed up like a reindeer. He was pretty cool.

The tree in Union Square.

The Macy's was awesome, it was seven stories tall. Then the Cheescake Factory was on the very top.

Matt was so excited for the Football game. It was really fun to go to, even though the Jets lost.

His man Brett Favre!

We also went to the Golden Gate Bridge, and Lombard - or the Crooked Street. The crooked street was one of our favorites also, but our camera does not take good pictures at night, so we didn't really get any that you can even see.

Shan and Matt,
This trip looks like a Blast! I've always wanted to go to Alcatraz. The Macy's store is huge.
Glad you are back safe and sound.

I love to know all the things. I am slightly alarmed about Alcatraz, I think I might have been scared there! It is all very neat, it is fabulous your mom could watch the girls, did they all have fun?! It sounds really fun!
