Our Trip

Well after twelve days of vacation we are finally back, and so happy to finally be back home to our dogs and our comfy beds. We left on Wednesday October 31st and drove to Las Vegas were we stayed with Jake and Jaime. For Halloween we went to Lisa and Nates Church Trunk or Treat. It was so fun to be able to see Owen and Brooklyn in their costumes. Jake was so nice and went to the store to buy some halloween candy, but the store was all out considering it being halloween night. So he came home with a bag of candy that had gum, toy guns, lion plastic shapes and little tiny mugs that looked like beer mugs. We all thought that was rather amusing.

On November 1st we left from Las Vegas and drove to San Diego. The drive took 7 hours due to horrible traffic and Matt making friends with people at every gas station that we stopped at. At one gas station my mother and I were sitting in the car wondering what in the heck happened to him and when my mom went in to see he was talking to three guys about their mustangs. We could not believe it. We finally arrived in San Diego at about 9:30 p.m. and checked into our condo. It was really nice. It was right on the beach and from the deck we had a perfect view of the ocean. We spent Friday, which was our first day in San Diego at Sea World. Ali loved getting to touch all the animals and especially enjoyed petting the dolphins and the star fish.

On Saturday we just hung around at the beach and relaxed. There was a big surfing competition so that was fun to watch. Ali was not at all scared of the ocean, she was right in the water with Matt and was soaked in no time. My mom had a hard time relaxing and even suggested that we go to anaheim early because there was not enough to do at the beach because it was too cold to lay out and there were not really any shops in the area that we were in. On Sunday we went to Seaport Village which is in downtown San Diego. It was really neat because on the way there we passed where cruise ships were docked and some huge air craft carrier. Seaport Village is like a little outside mall with cute shops along the ocean. They had a wooden toy store that Ali love and we could not get her out of, she kept walking up to things in there and saying that they were adorable or gorgeous.

On Monday we drove to Anaheim and went to Downtown Disney until we could check into our hotel. That night at dinner we went to Tony Romas and some girl next to us kept telling me that she loved my baby and was rubbing her head. I was really getting irritated and put her shade up on her car seat and put and she kept pulling it down. Finally I told her to leave her alone and then she said that Ali looked really pretty, but that her dress was too short. We thought that was really funny that a girl that was maybe 7 would say something like that.

Our first day at Disneyland was so nice, it was not crowded at all and we could get on every ride without having to wait. Ali's favorite rides were the Miracle Round -as she would say, Dumbo and the Tea Cups. She also love seeing Minnie and Goofy, but was not quiete sure what to think of Buzz Lightyear. On our way to the park that day we ran into one of our friends and found out that another set of friends were there too. That was kind of weird that we were all there at the same time.

Here are a few pictures of our most memorable meal at Disneyland. We went to this little place calle Cafe Orleans and they had the menu outside, but of course no prices on it. So we get inside and just for one Monte Cristo Sandwich it was $16.00 just for the sandwich and a cup of grapes. It was really good, but we could not believe that we spent that much on a sandwich. Ali got a Monte Cristo PBJ. She loved it and thought that it was toast.

On our second day at Disneyland we went to California Adventure for the first half of the day. We saw our friends there, that is who is in the pictures with Ali. There is not as much to do at that park, but it is still neat. Ali got to see Chip and Dale along with Lightning McQueen and Mater. For some reason Ali loved this Jumpin Jellyfish ride which is like the rocket at lagoon, but in a miniature version. The first time we went on it they said that she was tall enough, but when she wanted to go on it again later they said that she wasn't. Boy did that make her upset, She cried so hard and for so long it was really sad. After California Adventure we went to Disnayland to eat at the Blue Bayou, inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. It was really neat in there, but the prices were ridiculous and the food was not that great.

Our last Disneyland day was definately our most memorable. Ali and I were on the tea cups and I spotted a guy that is on the soap opera that my mom and I like. So I was trying to get my moms attention, finally she realized and her and Matt started taking pictures of him. When Ali and I got off the ride Matt was teasing us that he was going to go and talk to him, but we did not believe him. So I bend down into the stroller to get a granola bar for Ali and when I get up Matt is gone. He really did go over to talk to him. First he asked him if he was stone cold from GH, and then he asked if we could get a picture with him. So here it is.

Ali got to meet The Little Mermaid, and Matt got so tired by the end of the day that he left my mom and I with the girls because his feet hurt. Sometimes he can be such a boob, so we stayed and watched the parade.

The morning that we left the Disneyland hotel was very tragic. Ali balled and cried for the first five minutes of the morning because she did not want to go back to Centerville. The whole trip she would say that everytime we would get in the car. So she was really happy when we told her that we were going to see baby Ellie. We stayed in St. George on Saturday and Sunday. It was so fun to get to hang out with Mark, Danielle and Ellie. Ali loved swimming and said the pool felt like the bath.
